An exhibition of interactive and participatory artworks by pioneering new media artist George Khut, exploring the connections between thinking, feeling and being. Presented as the inaugural exhibition at the DADAA Fremantle Gallery, these immersive electronic artworks will explore the creative and transformative potential of contemplative practices.
George Khut is an artist and interaction-designer working across the fields of electronic art, interaction design and arts-in-health. He lectures in art and interaction design at UNSW Art & Design (University of New South Wales, Faculty of Art & Design) in Sydney, Australia.
Khut’s body-focussed interactive and participatory artworks use bio-sensing technologies to re-frame experiences of embodiment, health and subjectivity.
Recent group exhibitions include, Group Therapy: Mental Distress in a Digital Age, curated by Vanessa Bartlett at FACT in Liverpool, UK, CUSP: Design into the Next Decade, curated by Object Gallery (Australian Design Centre); Sensory Overload at the McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery; Wonderland: Contemporary Art from Australia at the MoCA Taipei, the Sensorium Gymnasium at Performance Space with the Thinking Through The Body research group; This Secret Location, In-between Time at Arnolfini, UK; and Strange Attractors: Charm between Art and Science, curated by Annie Ivanova, Zendai Museum of Modern Art, Shanghai, China.
